Photogrammetry

Photogrammetry is a technology for obtaining reliable measurements by aerial photography and satellite imagery. In this the three-dimensional coordinates of a point on an object are determined by the measurements made in different photographic images, which are taken from different positions. It is used in many fields such as topographic mapping, architecture, engineering, and police investigations but its most important use is in Geographical Information System.

Benefits

  • A high level of accuracy can be achieved by using this technique.
  • As digital data is used, it is highly flexible and cost effective.
  • It is a non-contact technique so can be easily used for the items, which are distorted when touched.
