Institute of Geophysics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) is one of the most important institution under the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Science, engaged in pure research oriented activities in the field of geophysics.

History and Development:

Institute of Geophysics is one of the oldest institute under the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS). Since then Institute of Geophysics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) have developed with time. Academician Pyzyrev and Gaisky had played an pivotal role in this development.

Organizational Structure:

At present Institute of Geophysics, Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences (SB RAS) has 155 permanent staff. Among these there are 2 academician, 17 doctors, 42 Ph.D's and 20 researchers. It boasts of having well equipped laboratories. The institute is presently headed by its director Epov Mikhail Ivanovich, who is also a corresponding member of Russian Academy of Science.
