Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) was established in the year 1951. Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) is situated in the city of Lviv in the western part of Ukraine. The Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) looks after the Geology and Geochemistry in Ukraine for the purpose of efficient extraction and conservation of combustible fuels.
The main functions of Institute of Geology and Geochemistry of Combustible Minerals National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine (NASU) are,
  • Studying the geotechnological problems associated with the process of extraction of combustible resources from the petroleum and methane-coal deposits.
  • Studying Geochemistry and Geoecology of the Carpathian region.
  • Studying the theory of origin of gas and oil, formation of gas and oil deposits and their localization.
  • Studying the problems associated with the formation of methane-coal deposits and their localization.
