Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Myanmar was known as
Burma Meteorological Department, at the time of its conception in 1937. The Department came to be known as the Department of Meteorology and Hydrology in 1974. Presently,
DMH is under the
Myanmar Ministry of Transport. In 1992, the
Meteorological and Hydrological Department of Myanmar was shifted to the Ministry of Communications, Posts and Telegraphs from the supervision of the Ministry of Transport and Communication. Eventually,
DMH was placed under the
Myanmar Ministry of Transport in 1999.
The Department of Meteorology and Hydrology, Myanmar has an Organizational Structure, headed by the Director General and followed by the Deputy Director General. The major divisions under the
